This Maleku 70% Dark Chocolate from Chocolarder is made using cocoa beans from the Maleku people in Costa Rica. Beans are sourced from cacao producers Nahua Cacao who have been a force for good since Costa Rica's cocoa production was devasted by disease in the 1980s. They are dedicated to improving the lives of smallholder farmers via training, assistance, and community participation, as well as encouraging sustainable farming techniques, reforestation, and conservation. Expect rich cocoa flavours with notes of coffee, fig and caramelised banana in this bean to bar chocolate.
