This Green Tea Discovery Bundle is designed to showcase some of our favourite green teas, ideal for the green tea drinker who likes to ring the changes every now and then. We've included some classic green teas that explore a range of flavours from different tea producing regions in China and Japan.
Japanese Sencha - This "Japanese Sencha Fukujyu" meaning "Green Spider Legs" is grown in the foothills of Mount Fuji. Sencha is made up from the new shoots of the plant, the first and second flush giving more flavour complexity in the tea. After picking, the tea is steamed then being pan fried, giving a dark green colour to the leaves.
Gen Mai Cha - Originally this was the ‘Poor Man’s Green Tea’ bulking up the precious leaves with the ubiquitous grains of rice. Puffed popcorn-like rice adds some straw like aroma and subtle sweetness to this Japanese green tea.
Young Hyson - Sweet, earthy and refreshing, this green tea comes from the the Anhui province of China. Young leaves are thinly rolled and twisted, unfurling when brewed. Some believe the name originates from the Cantonese Flourishing Spring, others that it was named after the English Tea Merchant Phillip Hyson who brought it back to Britain.
Jasmine with Flowers - This Chinese green tea takes some of the finest green tea leaves and withers them together with Jasmine flowers to produce a tea with a heady, floral aroma
and light, umami green tea taste.
