This Cold Brew Bottle from Hario is ideal for preparing delicious batches of cold brew coffee during the summer months. Just fill the bottle with cold water, add ground coffee to the basket and leave to steep overnight. Once your cold brew is ready, remove the basket, re-place the rubber lid and you can serve straight from the bottle.
Unlike iced coffee which is brewed hot over ice, the lack of heat in cold brew means it takes a longer time for proper extraction to happen, between 8-24 hours. The longer you leave it the stronger. As long as you prepare in advance we find that this is a much easier way to make cold coffee. This bottle fits up to 750ml of cold brew which means you can make bigger batches that are going to taste great for around 3-5 days.
We recommend a ratio of 60g of coffee to 750ml of water grinding on a cafetière grind setting. However if you want to create a concentrate to last a bit longer try filling the basket to around 100g and brew with 600ml of water. Any coffee with bright acidity and fruit notes works perfectly as cold brew and this summer we're getting great results form our Ethiopia Beloya and Rwanda Kinini AA.
